This week at Aggregate Intellect!
So, you remember I mentioned that we were navigating some complex situation in some of the deals we are working on? Well, we did manage to find a way to tackle that issue and ended up in the best possible scenario. Still a few more steps to go through, but I think we’re getting close.
In parallel, we have been working on our 2024 strategy including resource management, figuring out our financials, and importantly the types of business deals and partnerships we want to pursue!
Last week’s unsung hero
The resolution to our complex situation came from one of our prospective clients who chose to treat us non-transactionally and with a pragmatic approach helped us reach a meaningful agreement. I can’t name them here for obvious reasons, but still…
Thank you, <insert name>, for being a great partner.
LLM Workshop
What you see here is the few troopers that stayed even past the last part of our one day workshop on LLM humoring me with waving at camera while I figured how to record a GIF...
Here are some of the things I learned:
🔥 from Daniel Rock I learned about the impact of llms on labor market, esp thinking about jobs as dynamic sets of tasks
🔥from Andy McMahon I learned promptOps and in what scenarios one should think about serving open source models
🔥 from Boqi Chen I learned about layers of software testing (unit, integration, system, and acceptance) and how they relate to LLM system robustness
🔥 then had so much fun with Suhas Pai adn the interesting trivia questios he threw at us. Harpreet Sahota 🥑, Richard Schaefer, and Susan Shu Chang officially earned the prepetual bragging right about their ML trivia skills
🔥from Megan Risdal I learned about all the nuances of evaluating performance in massively scalabe ML projects and some ways to tackle that
🔥Val Andrei Fajardo then showed us some interesting code using LlamaIndex
🔥Benedicte PIERREJEAN showed us how they are thinking about automatically evaluating dialogue systems at scale
🔥 and lastly Benjamin Labaschin made it very clear that if you don't know about Pydantic you're probably doing it wrong
